We published this site on Friday 14th September 2007, in a soft-launch (not publicised so that we could iron out any problems with the site before making a full public launch). We finally went public with the Press Release below on 12 October. We have already attracted many registered users to the site and the reaction has been excellent. We're still tweaking and adding new features, so please bear with us and enjoy the site.

One World Week’s new website brings us “ALL TOGETHER NOW”,
One World Week (21 - 28 October, 2007) is upon us. While people across the UK and beyond are preparing and publicising their local events, this is a great time to celebrate the official launch of the exciting new website which brings supporters everywhere “ALL TOGETHER NOW”, the OWW theme for 2007. The new website offers support with resources, contacts and inspiration from past and planned events including guidance about planning local events with inter faith and inter cultural organisations. It enables OWW organisers to link to a worldwide network of local OWW contacts and exchange ideas and tips. OWW resources have been available exclusively on the website this year: they include new versions of old favourites like the worship anthology, a drama, a quiz and other fun ideas; logos, posters and photos to download for exhibitions. There are links to resources on the websites of other like minded organisations, including some which have been involved in looking at the impact of climate change on some of the world’s most vulnerable people and what we can do. The new site encourages participation. Web designer, Rhys Webber, points out: “Registered users will be able to access our tutorial page, explaining how you can contribute to the site and to the One World Week community. You can put your events, photos and news on to the site, or download resources. It may sound scary, but we'll hold your hand through the process and are available to talk to if you have major problems. There's also a FAQ page to turn to if you are having difficulties” “We know a few people may not feel confident initially about using the website themselves,” says OWW Trustee, Sarah Hirom, “In that case this is an excellent opportunity to involve new people who enjoy using computers – a local school or your local volunteer agency will be happy to help.” She added: “We want local organisers to register so they can share information and ideas and participate in the evaluation of their events on line this year. We plan to take participation further: we shall be asking for suggestions about the theme for 2008 and conducting an online poll to choose the most popular one.” Once people have registered, OWW can also keep in contact with them through occasional newsletters.
