Sharing Day Success!

On the 13th March 2010, we held our annual OWW sharing day in Reading.  Organisers came from all over the UK to enjoy a day of brainstorming, discussion, food and friendship.

The day started with a look back at events from 2009, giving everybody the chance to hear about successful OWW celebrations and what might be improved or built upon for OWW 2010.

We then went on to discuss OWW 2010 ‘Peacing Together One World’ with an invigorating and productive group brainstorm about what could be implemented on this theme.  After an excellent Ethiopian meal we worked in more detail on some of the ideas and then gave everyone a chance to say what they needed from OWW. We rounded off the day with a few moments of reflection and lighting a candle for peace.

According to those who attended, the Sharing Day was ‘a really worthwhile day – it gave me lots of ideas’ and ‘it was inspiring to meet people from such a range of backgrounds and to work together on shared goals’.  Others commented that the event was ‘inspirational and educational - helped remind me why I belong with One World Week’ and provided an ‘abundance of shining ideas’.

Thank you to everyone who was able to come.
