Dear Organiser/SupporterHungry for a rest? After all of your tremendous efforts to make One World Week 2009 a success you certainly deserve to put your feet up; but before you do... Please send us your evaluation forms, comments and images so that we can celebrate all your hard work, and learn from your experience. Your feedback is particularly important as it enables us to develop and tailor the support we offer you - ensuring your needs are met accurately next year. Last year we heard of 32,600 participants at 263 events. That was really wonderful. Yet we know that there are many more events held for which we have no statistics. So this year if you know of any events but did not see them on the website, please tell us about them. This information is vital for us to maintain and build our funding and thereby to reach out to more people and make a bigger difference. So we are extending the deadline to Friday 18th December to give every organiser a chance to download an evaluation form from the website and send it in. What a week that was...Portsmouth had a range of colourful stalls and literature, and offered activities such as games, letter writing, food, crafts, workshops and personal pledges. About 80 people were involved in organising, helping and participating, and the Mayor and her Consort also visited the event. Denny Primary School presented a carnival-themed assembly to pupils and parents. Festivities included samba dancing and drums, carnival masks, a presentation about global hunger, songs and stalls. The school raised 201.25 for CAFOD. Reading University put on a whole week of events including workshops and talks, football games, meals, exhibitions and film screenings.

A date for your diary OWW NATIONAL SUPPORTERS SHARING DAYReading, Saturday 13th March. First National Inter Faith WeekThis month OWW exhibited at the first National Inter Faith Week. Alongside DFID we were the only non-faith global justice group to attend. The organisers said: "We were delighted that One World Week contributed to the exhibition at the national launch event for Inter Faith Week at the QE II Conference Centre last Thursday." Check out the News section of OWW's website for a more detailed report and the Inter Faith Week website: http://www.interfaithweek.org/. The Inter Faith Network is a great way to make contacts with people of other faiths and encourage them to join in with OWW events next year. You can find resources on how to do this on the Resources page of this website. |
