One World Week provides the space for people from diverse backgrounds to come together to learn about global justice, to spread that learning and to use it to challenge inequality, discrimination and degradation, locally and globally.

Dear Organiser/Supporter

Hungry for a rest?

After all of your tremendous efforts to make One World Week 2009 a success you certainly deserve to put your feet up; but before you do...

Please send us your evaluation forms, comments and images so that we can celebrate all your hard work, and learn from your experience. Your feedback is particularly important as it enables us to develop and tailor the support we offer you - ensuring your needs are met accurately next year.

Last year we heard of 32,600 participants at 263 events. That was really wonderful. Yet we know that there are many more events held for which we have no statistics. So this year if you know of any events but did not see them on the website, please tell us about them.

This information is vital for us to maintain and build our funding and thereby to reach out to more people and make a bigger difference. So we are extending the deadline to Friday 18th December to give every organiser a chance to download an evaluation form from the website and send it in.

What a week that was...

First National Inter Faith Week

This month OWW exhibited at the first National Inter Faith Week. Alongside DFID we were the only non-faith global justice group to attend. The organisers said:

"We were delighted that One World Week contributed to the exhibition at the national launch event for Inter Faith Week at the QE II Conference Centre last Thursday."

The Inter Faith Network is a great way to make contacts with people of other faiths and encourage them to join in with OWW events next year. You can find resources on how to do this on the Resources page of this website.

New staff at OWW

Two new members of staff have joined the Ubuntu project at the OWW national office this month and we warmly welcome them.

vicki collingeVicki Collinge, our new intern, has recently graduated from Nottingham University. She hopes her work with OWW will encourage respect and understanding of cultural and religious diversity.

DFID Community Linking Programme (DCLP)

dfid logo

Community groups throughout the UK are encouraged to take part in a nationwide survey to help DFID's Community Linking Programme, which will launch in 2010.

The survey aims to find out how many community groups in the UK already have links with a community group in a developing country and what activities their link involves.

If your group has any such links then please complete the short survey at: www.dfid.gov.uk/DCLP.

Donations

All donations to assist our core work are gratefully received via cheque, Just Giving or the OWW website
