We have just received an inspiring feedback letter from our (DfID) 3-year Ubuntu Project funders, saying:

“This was a well-managed project working with new target groups and as such provides an interesting model for collaboration with a wide range of community groups … You have developed strong and close relationships with your partner organisations and they have made a significant contribution to the project.“(See the full report and letter here on the OWW website)

Such a positive outcome reflects huge credit to everyone who has taken part in One World Week over the past three years – either directly or behind the scenes. A huge “THANK YOU!” to you all for your enthusiasm and dedication to working together to inspire others to build a just, peaceful and sustainable world!

And another “thank you” to those who have sent in prompt reports and evaluations from this year’s OWW events. These are already being used to provide evidence for vital funding bids to support our on-going work - which is being stretched like never before, not least because DfID (Department for International Development) has stopped funding development awareness projects.

However, we do know there has been a lot more going on than we know about, so, PLEASE, PLEASE send us your feedback form asap if you have not yet done so. You can download it here (you will see we have simplified it considerably). No event is too insignificant!

If you can send us electronic pictures, videos or media coverage of your event as well, these will be most useful and may well end up on our website for all to see.

We are already thinking of OWW 2012. As we indicated in our last newsletter, the theme will be “Sharing Destiny – Moving Towards One World”. What image does this conjure up? If you have any thoughts as to what this might mean to you and your potential audiences, please do get in touch. Your ideas can help shape our resources for 2012.

We wish you an enjoyable and fruitful festive time and look forward to building on our collaborations in the New Year.

With every good wish from the OWW Team:
Mina, Milind, Jonaid, Sarah, Sally & Ingrid
