In any case, there is plenty here to enable you to put on some stimulating, involving and fun events which will hopefully lead people to take action towards "creating a culture of peace for our children"
We heard what you said about wanting posters, quizzes and more for children to do. And here they are, with loads more new helpful resources on the One World Week website (www.oneworldweek.org). They are relevant across all ages, religions, cultures and interests. Many are adaptable to suit your own needs.

Week of Prayer for World PeaceThe Week of Prayer for World Peace coincides with One World Week this year. The week encourages people of all faiths to stand together as friends and partners for peace.
Keeping in mind our theme of Peacing Together One World, what could you do to combine the two initiatives? Speakers for your EventWould you like to have a development expert to come and speak at your event? One World Week is working with CAFOD, Islamic Relief, Pax Christi, Voluntary Services Overseas (VSO) and others to provide expert speakers on approaches to international development. There will normally be no charge for this.
|
The number of speakers is limited but it is not too late to contact the One World Week office to find out if a speaker might be available. Also let us know if you know of any good speakers who would be willing to speak at other OWW events. EvaluationIncluded with your printed version of this newsletter and also available online is the new, simplified evaluation form for this year's One World Week. As always, we cannot emphasise enough how important it is for us to hear about your events. Only through your feedback can we keep improving One World Week, maintain our funding and provide you with the right resources. No matter how big or how small your One World Week activity, we need to hear from you. Don't forget to take lots of photos and videos and send us some for our round-up of 2010 events. Watch this SpaceThis year's One World Week has not even begun and we are already planning for next year! OWW 2011 will have an environmental theme; more details to follow in the coming months. Goodbye and HelloWe say goodbye to Vicki Collinge, our intern who has been with us for the past 10 months. Many thanks for all her hard work on the new resources and her contributions to the Ubuntu project. We wish her all the best in her future. |
We warmly welcome Sam Kennedy, who has taken over the role of intern for the remainder of the Ubuntu project. Sam says, "I look forward to learning more about the roles that different faith groups play in shaping the local community." DONATIONSFunding from our traditional sources is becoming increasingly difficult to obtain. All donations to assist our ongoing work are gratefully received - please contact the office or see the Donate page on our website for details
