Event Description:

A new film about Climate Change and what we need to do. Shown for the first time in Portsmouth, With film -maker James Dyke, Producer- Presenter and Paul Maple: Director/Producer plus a panel of local experts.

This film explores the assumptions that lie at the heart of all governments’ plans to avoid climate breakdown.

With contributions from experts and change makers, we see how humanity can rise to the challenge, and ensure a flourishing future.

Followed by Q&A with the film’s producer/presenter, James Dyke and panel discussion on galvanising a response to climate change.

The team behind the film will be answering questions:

James Dyke: presenter and co-producer of ‘The Race is On’

Senior Lecturer at the Global Systems Institute at the University of Exeter, James is a member of the European Geophysical Union and serves on the editorial board of the journal Earth System Dynamics.

Paul Maple: Director/Producer of ‘The Race is On’

Other members of the panel will be added but include Professor Stephen Fletcher, Director, Sustainability and Environment at the University who’s about to head the new Climate Change Board for Portsmouth.

He’s Professor of Ocean Policy and Economy, University of Portsmouth, Member, UN International Resource Panel, Paris and a Fellow, UN Environment World Conservation Monitoring Centre, Cambridge.

Global Documentary is born out of the idea that if we want the world to become a better place, then it is necessary to actively seek out better ideas, and communicate them in order to help shape our global conversations.
