We enclose with this newsletter, the OWW Evaluation Form for 2009, with some guidance notes and suggestions for collecting the data at your events with this newsletter.

Please remember to register on the One World Week website and THEN login so that you can publicise your events. This year there is a new interactive map on the Events Page to make it easier for everyone to see which events are taking place in each area. Once you fill in your event form, this will be automatically added to the map for you.

OWW 2009 Hungry for One World 18 -24 October

Ubuntu/Resources

Many of the new resources for 2009 have an inter faith dimension. The presentations explore hunger and poverty from two different faith perspectives: Muslim and Christian. We hope that as people use these presentations, they will be able to draw similarities between the two, as well as to their own values. We hope that they may offer faith groups, inter faith groups and non-faith groups a new way of exploring some issues. They may also be used as an introduction to a faith group perspective different from one's own, with the aim to encourage discussion and draw people together. There is also a presentation "An Inclusive Approach to Global Issues" that could be helpful as guidance for those starting out on working at an inter faith level.

The Christian worship anthology for 2009 provides an ecumenical order of service and suggestions for further readings and prayers that can be used throughout the week. Many thanks go to CAFOD for providing us with the worship anthology this year.

Donations

All donations during OWW are gratefully received. They assist us with our core work.

Photos etc

Please send us copies of photos, press reports and programmes of your events with captions and notes. We will assume that if you send them in we can use them on our website. It will be easier for us to upload photographs if they are sent electronically. A selection of press reports sent in from ,have already been used and mention of those events can be found on the Events 2008 page.

Video Challenge

We want to see what is happening, but we can't be at every event! Please send in a short 2 minute video clip of your event. We hope that these can then be put onto the website, for everyone to see the wonderful events that happen during OWW. You may want to interview individuals, or capture the atmosphere. All we ask is that it is a sharp, brief 2 minute clip, not a documentary!

OWW 2010: 17-24 October

The theme for next year will be around creating a culture of peace for our children. Watch out for the new leaflets and title on the website.

When you download resources, please consider sending us a donation towards production costs.

Goodbyes and hellos

We say goodbye to Jenny Cameron and Sarah Kilou. Many thanks for all their hard work and contribution to the Ubuntu project. We wish them well in their futures. Two new members of staff join the Ubuntu project at the OWW national office. We warmly welcome Jeff Lynn, the new project manager and Vicki Collinge, the new intern. We look forward to introducing them to you later in September and October.
