November 2014

We can think of many positive reasons to continue, but would like to hear what you think.

If you are an organiser, participant, long-term or even recent supporter we need your views.

Alas, One World Week is facing potential closure after 36 years. However, the Trustees are actively exploring ways forward. Please help us by telling us:

Why OWW should continue?

E-mail us your answer in a sentence or two, with an e-mail headed ‘Why OWW should continue’ to oww@oneworldweek.org

Living Differntly

Meanwhile, there has been a wide range of fascinating events taking place for One World Week 2014, interpreting the theme in different ways. Those you have told us about include a meal using food that would otherwise have been thrown away, and a workshop exploring ethical investment.

Thank you if you organised, helped out or attended an OWW event. Thanks also if you are one of the speedy respondents who have already completed and returned your Event Evaluation Form or have sent us photos of your events.

We appreciate all your efforts and would like to hear about every single activity - what you did, who came, what issues were addressed and if any pledges were made towards ‘Living Differently’.

Organisers, please share this with us by completing the Organisers Event Evaluation Form.

Share selected photos with us as well by e-mailing them to oww@oneworldweek.org

And don’t forget that OWW-related events are still happening - visit the website Calendar to see what’s taking place near you, or add your own.

DONATIONS - don't skip this bit!

Thank you for your recent, some very generous, personal donations and collections from your One World Week events. We appreciate your continued support, which is vital to determine our future.

We still need further pledges and more regular standing orders, so please do consider what you can give via this simple link – gift-aided if possible.

OWW 2015

Thinking positively, we are already planning for One World Week 2015. It will run from Sunday 18th to Sunday 25th October 2015. This is in conjunction with the European Global Education Week Network, which recently held its annual planning seminar with OWW as the UK representative. Our theme will be around issues of “equality” in relation to global justice and poverty, which also should chime very well with the new Oxfam campaign “Even It Up” - see this and other partners’ campaigns on our website: http://www.oneworldweek.org/

Finally, please don’t forget to send us your quick response now to “Why OWW should continue?” …

With best wishes from Mina, Ingrid, Jonaid, Sally, Sarah and Sebastian
