OWW Co-ordinator Vacancy Deadline
10 Aug 2015

OWW is seeking to recruit a National Coordinator (a paid position) to work with our volunteers (for an average of 32.5 hours a month). Please help spread the word. Interested people should download the form and job-details from the website front page: www.oneworldweek.org and apply by 10 August 2015.

We are also still recruiting national volunteers to complement those who have already come forward. Please have a look at the “volunteering” page of the website and see if you could spare a few hours a week, a month or a few days at a particular time of year. Or could you represent OWW at a National or Regional conference you are attending? We’d love to hear from you if you could and we could equip you with leaflets.

The latest recruit is Wendy Young from Christian Aid, who plans to have a Worship Anthology relating to the theme, “Hope in Action”, ready by mid-September. Another keeps putting up useful snippets on our Facebook page! Yet another is focussing on putting up events on the website calendar, so don’t hesitate to ensure details of your local activities are sent in as soon as they are finalised.

Confident Offers

Our website manager has kindly offered to revamp our 6-year-old website at no charge to make it more fit-for-purpose - if we can guarantee the continued website maintenance contract for a further two years. Can you or your organisation help contribute?

Extra donations, however large or small, are also urgently needed to help fund the new Co-ordinator. One partner has promised to match-fund significant new funding up to £3,000.

Please DONATE here with Standing Orders or one-off gifts, with or without Gift-Aid support.

2015 Resources

All are available on the OWW website for your local use.

Leaflet: Download and print as a two sided, single fold A4 leaflet. Select full colour for commercial printing or reduced-colour or grey-scale to print off a few yourself without overusing your colour cartridge. (NB. We have managed to print some leaflets for bulk mailings – please ask.)

Poster: Use the picture side as a poster or make your own using images from the Publicity Resources page.

Theme Ideas:
“Some suggestions & resources for event organisers on the 2015 theme: “HOPE IN ACTION" - Inspiring a culture of hope to build a more equal and peaceful world”.

This explores ideas behind the theme, with ways of approaching issues of inequality, case studies to inspire hope and web links to organisations addressing inequality in various ways. Great for discussing with your event planning team. Download from the Resources Page here.

"It has lots of good stuff - some of it I will use in our service, in our church newsletter and also in our half term holiday club - so thank you."

Communication

Please continue to communicate with us by email via the website. We no longer have a physical office or, currently, any staff, so don’t use the old address. Get in touch by email and we’ll phone you back where appropriate.

Looking forward to seeing much “Hope in Action” in the near future…

Kind regards from

Trustees Ingrid, Jonaid, Sarah and all in our growing volunteer team.
