One World Week latest and how it affects you

July 2015

Please communicate with us by email via the website. We no longer have a physical office or, currently, any staff, so please do not write to us or phone at the old address. Get in touch by email and we’ll phone you back where appropriate.

We have recruited some excellent volunteers to take on some of the work, but still need more. Please have a look at the “recruitment” page of the website and see if you could spare a few hours a week, a month or a few days at a particular time of year. Or could you represent OWW at a National or Regional conference you are attending? We’d love to hear from you if you could and we could equip you with leaflets.

We are seeking to recruit a Coordinator (a paid position) to work with our volunteers (for 1-2 days a week). Please spread the word among people you think would be suitable. Interested people should contact us direct on oww@oneworldweek.org.

Donations

Please keep donations flowing in as they are urgently needed to help fund this Co-ordinator. DONATE here

Trustees

We are also very keen to find new trustees to help guide our new virtual One World Week. Again, contact us direct, please.

News of new resources:

Leaflet – this is available on the website for your local use. Download and print as a two sided, single fold A4 leaflet.

You can select full colour for commercial printing or reduced colour or grey scale if you want to print off a few yourself without overusing your colour cartridge.

Poster – You can use the picture side as a poster or make your own using the images provided on the Publicity Resources page.

Ideas for interpreting the theme:

A paper (6pp) “Some suggestions and resources for event organisers on the 2015 theme: “HOPE IN ACTION" - Inspiring a culture of hope to build a more equal and peaceful world” is available to download from the resources page of the OWW website here.

It explores the ideas behind the theme, suggests ways of approaching issues of inequality, case studies to inspire hope and web links to our partners and all sorts of other organisations which are addressing inequality in various ways. Great for discussing with your event planning team.

Christian Worship Anthology:

We shall produce a OWW service focusing on the theme, so please include it in your plans. We have been collecting worship materials and ideas from a variety of partners and other websites, some of which we will put links to on the website shortly. We are currently looking for someone to pull the materials together. If you know of anyone who would do it please let us know - asap.
